| Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man found at 7600 Beechnut Street about 12:05 a.m. on December 22, 2023.
The suspect, Hugo Daniel Bahena Dominguez, 25, is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court. A booking photo of Bahena Dominguez is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Eric Colin, 30.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Wilson and Detective M. Castillo reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting victim dropped of at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital at the above address. The victim, later identified as Mr. Colin, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased by medical staff.
Investigators learned an unknown female dropped off Colin and then left the hospital.
Further investigation determined the shooting occurred in a parking lot of a restaurant at 3202 South Loop West (South Interstate Highway 610 West) about 11:45 p.m. on December 21 (about 20 minutes prior to arriving at the hospital.)
Subsequent investigation identified Bahena Dominguez as the suspect in this case. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Bahena Dominguez was subsequently charged. On Tuesday (January30), Bahena Dominguez was arrested by officers with the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force.
