| Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 9923 Valley Club Drive about 1:10 a.m. on Wednesday (January 24).
The identity of the deceased victim, 40, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Meek and Detective S. Overstreet reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a residence at the above address and found the victim unresponsive in the driveway. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man deceased. A second man, 41, was found nearby, also with a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
A possible male suspect, 36, who appeared to be intoxicated on an unknown substance, required immediate medical treatment and was transported to an area hospital.
A preliminary investigation indicated the suspect was with the two victims prior to the shooting.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
