One Suspect Arrested, Another Sought in December Fatal Shooting at 13234 Adler Drive

Charges have been filed against one suspect wanted and another arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 13234 Adler Drive about 5:10 p.m. on December 16, 2023.  

The wanted suspect, Aaron Joshua James, 19, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 177th State District Court.  A March 2023 booking photo of James, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.

The other suspect, Ronald Hamilton, 25, is in custody and charged with murder in the 482nd State District Court.  A booking photo of Hamilton is attached to this news release.

The victim is identified as Montre Dijon Birdow, 32.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Finlay and L. Kauffman reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call outside a residence at the above address and learned Houston Fire Department paramedics had transported a male with a gunshot wound and in critical condition to Ben Taub General Hospital.  The victim, later identified as Mr. Birdow, was pronounced deceased the following day (Dec. 17)..

Further investigation identified Hamilton and James as the suspects in this case.  On January 13, Hamilton was arrested without incident by New Braunfels Police Department officers during a traffic stop.   He was extradited back to Harris County and is in the Harris County Jail.

Aaron Joshua James was subsequently charged for his role in the incident and he remains at large.
