Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of a woman at 9800 Hollock Street about 10:55 p.m. on October 8.
The suspect, Chasity Nicole Bougere, 24, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 183rd State District Court. A photo of Bougere, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.
The victim, 24, was transported to an area hospital in critical, but stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives V. Gamez and A. Garcia reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the apartment complex at the above address and learned a physical altercation occurred regarding a child custody situation. A preliminary investigation determined the victim was shot in the arm by a female suspect. The victim was no longer at the scene.
A short time later, officers learned the victim had been transported by private vehicle to an area hospital.
Further investigation and evidence from the scene identified the suspect as Bougere. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was consulted and Bougere was subsequently charged for her role in the incident. Bougere remains at large.
