WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: February 4, 2023 at 6:19 p.m.
WHERE: 300 block of Cordell St. 77009.
INJURIES: Three civilians evaluated on scene.
PROPERTY SAVED: $395,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $90,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (overloaded power strip).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find a 2-story house on fire and made an offensive attack. A primary search was conducted, and crews found and removed several victims who were evaluated on scene by HFD EMS. Multiple pets were also removed and given to the residents. The fire was controlled, and the house was ventilated. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Firefighters from Stations 9, 12, 15, 30, 6, 8 and 19 responded to this incident.
