Houston police have learned that a male critically injured in an auto-pedestrian crash at 5200 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) service road on October 16 has died.
The identity of the deceased male, 61, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer J. Best reported:
The driver of a gray Jeep Compass was traveling westbound near the above address when the vehicle struck a pedestrian crossing the service road. The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and called 9-1-1.
The victim was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition. Doctors pronounced him deceased on November 10.
The driver of the Jeep, who was determined not to be impaired, was questioned and released pending further investigation.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
