Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 6524 Weston Street about 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 27).
The identity of the victim, 37, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Collier and J. Stroble reported: Officers responded to a shooting at the convenience store at the above address and were advised a store employee was shot after he had closed the business for the night. The employee was attempting to get into his vehicle when he was confronted and shot more than once by a suspect. The suspect then took the victim’s vehicle and fled the scene. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the man deceased at the scene. The victim’s vehicle, a gray 2012 Toyota Camry with Texas license plates BFM-2268, has not been located.
