The fatal shooting of a male at 7120 Village Way about 7:25 a.m. today (Sept. 9) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at 7119 Village Way and found a male suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics transported the male to an area hospital, where doctors pronounced him deceased.
Officers learned the male was shot in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex at the above address. Further investigation determined the male was alleged to have attempted to steal a catalytic converter off a vehicle at the apartment complex and the vehicle owner shot the male.
Investigators consulted with members of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, which determined the incident would be referred to a grand jury.
