Houston police are asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of a man at 8130 Kirby Drive about 1:30 p.m. on July 3.
The person of interest is identified as Albert Tyrone McNeal, 61. A July booking photo of McNeal, who has not been charged at this time, is attached to this news release.
The deceased victim is identified as Feni Oshinake, 44.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Miller and Detective D. Stark reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting in the parking lot of a business at the above address and found Mr. Oshinake lying in front of the store. He had a gunshot wound to the chest. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced Oshinake deceased at the scene.
Further investigation and witness statements determined Oshinake was walking and appeared to have bumped into a black Dodge Challenger as it was passing the front of the store. The driver of the Challenger exited his vehicle and confronted Oshinake. At some point during the argument, the suspect pulled out a pistol and shot Oshinake. The suspect, described only as a black male, got back into his vehicle and fled the scene.
A preliminary investigation identified McNeal as a person of interest in this incident.
Three days later, on July 6, officers responded to a road rage shooting call at 2000 Rusk Street about 2 p.m. and were advised a male shot at a vehicle with a woman and her children inside. No one was injured in the incident. Investigators identified McNeal as a possible suspect in the shooting. He was questioned for his role in the incident and subsequently charged with being a felon in possession of a weapon in the 230th State District Court.
