HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a motel at the above address and found Mr. Combs deceased from a gunshot wound.
A preliminary investigation and witness statements indicated Combs was shot after he asked his girlfriend to retrieve his pistol from his hotel room to settle a months-long argument with another male. After Combs was provided his weapon he walked in a hurried manner toward the male (shooter), who was outside eating. The male, having heard Combs’ request for his firearm, obtained his weapons and prepared to exchange gunfire. Combs was then shot and killed.
