Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 601 South Victory Drive that occurred about 5:05 a.m. today (October 1).
The identity of the female victim is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer M. Lares reported:
The driver of a black Dodge Charger was traveling northbound on North Shepherd Drive at the intersection of South Victory Drive when he struck a silver Nissan Sentra traveling eastbound on South Victory. The Nissan then spun around and struck a silver Jeep Patriot traveling westbound on South Victory. The driver of the Nissan (victim) was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver of the Charger fled the scene on foot and failed to render aid to the victim.
The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene, was evaluated, and did not show signs of intoxication.
The investigation is continuing.
