Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a woman at 22999 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) service road about 4:10 a.m. last Saturday (June 26).
The female is identified as Denise Asaro, 69.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives B. Rothberg and A. Barr reported:
Ms. Asaro was being treated at the HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood (Hospital) at the above address when she went into cardiac arrest. The hospital medical staff responded and were tending to Asaro with a defibrillator when a fire broke out. Asaro was severely burned and pronounced deceased a short time later.
Detectives responded to the scene to ascertain the cause of the fire and did not observe any signs of foul play. The cause and manner of death are pending autopsy results from the Montgomery County Forensic Services Department.
