Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 1251 Wilcrest Drive

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a juvenile female at 2151 Wilcrest Drive about 6:55 p.m. on Wednesday (May 20).

The suspect, Kelton Sarver (b/m, 19), is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 183rd State District Court.  A booking photo of Sarver, who remains hospitalized, is not available for release at this time.

The victim, 15, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers L. Bolmanski and M. Althaus reported:

The victim, her younger sister and adult brother were walking their dog.  The girls separated from their brother and, a short time later, were chased by a male suspect (Sarver) who fired multiple shots at them.  One shot struck the 15-year-old girl in the hip.  Sarver then followed the females to their residence at the above address, while their brother followed behind.

Once at the residence, Sarver attempted to kick in the door.  The girls’ brother then shot the suspect.  Paramedics transported Sarver to an area hospital, where he remains in stable condition.  He was subsequently charged for his role in the incident.

At this time, there is no known motive for the shooting.
