Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 1217 Uvalde Road about 8:30 p.m. on Thursday (March 26).
The victim, Gilbert Owen Magee, 62, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer K. Saulsberry reported:
Mr. Magee observed a male inside a vehicle at a gas station at the above address and recognized him as one of two suspects who assaulted him with a baseball bat a few months ago. Magee approached the suspect sitting in the passenger side of a white Nissan Altima parked near the gas pumps and struck him through the vehicle window. The suspect pulled out a handgun and shot Magee several times. As the Nissan drove away, Magee ran to the corner of the business
The suspect returned to the location, exited the Nissan and approached Magee. He fired several more shots and struck Magee. The suspect then fled the scene in the Nissan. Paramedics were called and transported Magee to the hospital.
At this time, there is no suspect description.
