Houston police are investigating the shooting of a child that occurred at 10615 Meadowglen Lane about 10 p.m. on Sunday (August 5).
The male victim, 2, was transported to an area hospital in an unknown condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives A. Hernandez and G. Black reported:
Investigators were told the boy was in his parents’ bedroom at the above address playing on the bed when he found a pistol on the nightstand. It was reported the boy then accidentally shot himself in the side with the pistol. His father rushed him to the hospital where he was taken into surgery. No weapon was found inside the residence and it is unknown if the boy’s mother was at home at the time of the incident.
