| Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 7803 Bellfort Avenue about 9:25 p.m. on Tuesday (June 18).
The suspect, Lance Tyler Campbell (w/m, 27), is charged with murder in the 174th State District Court. A booking photo of Campbell is attached to this news release.
The identity of the male victim, 60, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Sharp and J. Brown reported:
The victim was found at the above address with a gunshot wound to the chest. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced him deceased. Campbell, a security guard for the property, was detained at the scene for questioning.
Further investigation determined statements made by Campbell were not consistent with other evidence from the scene and he was subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
