Suspect Charged, Wanted in Stabbing at 11000 Kinghurst Street

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the stabbing of a woman at 11000 Kinghurst Street about 3:30 a.m. today (June 19).

The suspect, John Charles Gibson (b/m, 41), is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 182nd State District Court.  He is accused in the stabbing of Richaunda Heath, 27, who was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive her injuries.

A booking photo of Gibson is not available for release at this time, pending further investigation.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers C. Bowling and L. Kauffman reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a stabbing call at a townhome at the above address and found Ms. Heath with a severe laceration to her neck.  According to witnesses, Heath lived at the location with Gibson and both were heard arguing loudly.  Shortly after, a few loud sounds were heard and Heath ran outside, bleeding from her neck.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported her to the hospital.  Gibson fled the scene prior to officers arriving.
