Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 9401 Coventry Square Drive about 4 a.m. on October 5, 2019.
The suspect, Dashadd E. McNeil (b/m, 26), is charged with murder in the 174th State District Court. A booking photo of McNeil is attached to this news release.
The victim, Juston Alan Walker, 25, was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.
HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers W. Huff and J. Nguyen reported:
Patrol officers were dispatched to a shooting at the apartment complex at the above address and found Mr. Walker with multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported Walker to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Investigators identified McNeil as a person of interest in this case on November 27, 2019.
After months of trying to locate McNeil, investigators received a tip and arrested him on Monday (March 2) without incident. McNeil was questioned and subsequently charged in Walker’s killing.
