2-Alarm Warehouse Fire in The Fairbanks / Northwest Crossing Area

WHAT: 2-Alarm Warehouse Fire.

WHEN: November 26, 2022 at 9:47 a.m.

WHERE: 5150 Blalock Rd. 77041.

INJURIES: No reported injuries.

PROPERTY SAVED: $4,565,000 in estimated property saved.

DAMAGE: $175,000 in estimated damage.

CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental, due to a fire in the electrical panel.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find smoke coming from a mega sized warehouse. They made an offensive attack and set up a ladder for aerial rooftop operations. Crews forced entry and additional units were requested. They encountered heavy smoke with sprinkler activation. The roof was ventilated, and a second alarm was requested. CenterPoint arrived on scene and assisted with securing the utilities. Additional fans were used to clear the smoke as firefighters rotated throughout the structure. HFD Hazmat monitored the air quality and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Firefighters from Stations 50, 2, 4, 5, 28, 31, 13, 17, 38, 49, 62, 66, 67, 77, 11, 69, 8, 15, 30, 57, Hazmat 22 and 66, Heavy Rescue 11, Rehab 17, HFD’s Decon Task Force and Village Fire Department responded to this incident.
