WHAT: 2-Alarm Car Repair Garage Fire.

INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $650,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $250,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation (appears accidental at this time).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find fire and smoke coming from a 1-story metal car repair garage. They began an attack on the fire and pulled additional lines to control the vehicles on fire inside. A primary search was completed, and the nearby exposures were protected. HFD Hazmat placed booms to catch contaminated water run-off and monitored the scene. A second alarm was requested and rehab, cooling areas and decontamination areas were established for the responding crews. Several crews swapped out gear due to contamination. The fire was controlled, and firefighters ensured all hotspots were extinguished. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 127 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 16, 2, 15, 21, 28, 59, 60, 83, 3, 6, 7, 10, 33, 37, 48, 51, 60, 11, 24, 82, 8, 57, Hazmat 22 and 66, Heavy Rescue 11, Rescue 10 and Rehab 8.
