WHAT: 2-alarm apartment fire.
WHEN: August 9, 2023, at 9:32 p.m.
WHERE: 13111 Northborough Dr. 77067.
INJURIES:No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $600,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $500,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from the roof of a 3-story apartment building. They set-up aerial operations and requested a second alarm. The Houston Police Department was notified for traffic and crowd control. Crews made a defensive attack until the fire was controlled with a portion of the roof collapsing into the third floor and stairwell. A primary search was completed with several dogs and cats found and safely removed. Firefighters were rotated through rebab as they extinguished the fire and protected the nearby buildings. The American Red Cross and apartment manager assisted the residents. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 89 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 58, 64, 84, 30, 15, 4, 31, 43, 56, 67, 74, 96, 6, 8, 57, Heavy Rescue 11, Rehab 8, and the Aldine Fire Department.
