WHAT: 2-Alarm apartment fire.
WHEN: August 7, 2023, at 7:01 p.m.
WHERE: 2250 Holly Hall St. 77054.
INJURIES: One firefighter was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $50,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation (appears to be accidental at this time).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find fire coming from an apartment building and forced access. The fire was upgraded to a second alarm. Crews worked to extinguish the fire and checked for extension on the third floor. The fire was extinguished, and several residents were assisted with recovery of personal items. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the residents. One firefighter was transported to the hospital in stable condition. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Firefighters from Stations 33, 46, 16, 23, 6, 8, 21, 7, 17, 18, 25, 37, 47, 10, 37, 24, Heavy Rescue 11, and Rehab 8 and 17 responded to this incident.
