WHAT: 2-Alarm Apartment Fire

DAMAGE: $500,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as incendiary.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find heavy smoke and fire coming from a 2-story apartment building and made an offensive attack. A primary search was completed with no one found. A second alarm was requested, and the utilities were secured. The crews controlled the fire and pulled the ceiling and sheetrock to extinguish the hotspots. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. The ADA accepted charges onTryone Hall (DOB 5/8/1986) for Arson of a Habitation, a 1st degree felony. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the residents. 83 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 69, 82, 2, 28, 68, 78, 83, 10, 48, 51, 57, 60, 73, 75, 76, 33, Rescue 10 and Rehab 8.
