WHAT: Wildland/Grass fire.
WHEN: July 3, 2023 at 9:48 p.m.
WHERE: Near 8006 Rand St. 77028.

CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find a large grass fire involving two to three acres. They wet down the area around the sides of the fire and requested additional units, including the Wildland division of HFD with a drone. A fire watch was set up on the neighborhood street immediately north of the fire. The fire was controlled and fully extinguished and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause. 24 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 32, 77, 101, 34, 21 and 43.
