WHERE: 10801 Kempwood, 77043.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $4,050,590 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $301,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find light smoke coming from an industrial paper shredder and bailer on fire in a warehouse. The in-house fire protection system had contained the fire and alerted everyone. HFD Hazmat assessed the scene and found no hazardous concerns. Firefighters fully extinguished the fire and insured everyone was out of the building. They checked for hotspots and found none. Crews from Stations 2, 5, 78, 49, 50, 66, 77, 57 and Hazmat 66 responded to this incident.
