Warehouse Fire in The South Park Area

WHAT: Warehouse fire.

WHEN: September 6, 2023, at 1:46 p.m.

WHERE: 6002 Donoho St. 77033.

INJURIES: No reported injuries.

PROPERTY SAVED: $23,975,000 in estimated property saved.

DAMAGE: $25,000 in estimated damage.

CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the roof of a large warehouse. They used multiple dry chemical fire extinguishers to keep the fire under control on the roof which had numerous solar panels.  The warehouse was evacuated, and a primary search was completed.  There was no fire inside the structure. The fire and the hotspots were extinguished, and crews conducted overhaul. The fire started at the base of one of the solar panels and ignited the roofing materials. 50 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 35, 26, 46, 18, 36, 40, 83, 24, Hazmat 22 and Rehab 17.
