WHAT: Warehouse fire.
WHEN: August 20, 2023, at 5:18 p.m.
WHERE: 8314 Williamcrest Ln. 77071.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $405,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $70,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (electrical malfunction of lithium battery).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find smoke coming from a metal warehouse with four bays and the owner on scene. They made an offensive attack and conducted a primary search. Two vehicles were found burning and crews were able to confine and extinguish the fire. The primary unit had damage to multiple classic cars with smoke and heat damage to the other units. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 47 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 82, 2, 59, 48, 51, 60, 68, 73 and 80.
