UPDATE: Video of Vehicle Wanted in Fatal Crash at 11400 South Sam Houston Parkway East

Houston police have released video of a suspect vehicle wanted in a fatal hit-and-run crash at 11400 South Sam Houston Parkway East (Beltway 8) service road about 7:10 p.m. last Friday (January 31).

The vehicle is described only as a white 18 wheeler tractor-trailer truck.

The victim is identified as Francisco Medillin, 44.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officers A. Gomez and R. Guzman reported:

Several vehicles were stopped at the above address at a red light at the intersection with Sabo Road.  A white 18 wheeler tractor-trailer truck struck the rear of a silver Chevrolet Cavalier.  The tractor trailer continued forward and then struck a black Lexus RX350, a white Chevrolet Tahoe, a blue Ford Crown Victoria and a Toyota of unknown model.  The impact caused multiple crashes between the vehicles.  The driver of the 18-wheeler fled the scene without rendering aid. The driver of the Toyota did not remain at the scene to provide information.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the driver of the Cavalier, Mr. Medillin, deceased.  A male juvenile passenger, 9, in the Cavalier was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The female driver of the Lexus was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.  The occupants of the other vehicles were also transported by paramedics to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Further investigation identified a white 18 wheeler tractor-trailer truck, unknown make and model, as the vehicle wanted in this case.
