Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 10101 South Gessner Road about 9 p.m. on October 15, 2020.
One suspect, Sherikah Renee McGee (b/f, 19), is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court. The second suspect, Ariel Shawnta McGee (b/f, 17), is charged with aggravated robbery- serious bodily injury in the 338th State District Court and with tampering/fabricating physical evidence in the 230th State District Court. The victim, Moises Piedra, 58, was initially transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition. Doctors pronounced him deceased the next day (October 16).
HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Barrow and J. Caten reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment at the above address and found that Mr. Piedra had been shot multiple times. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to the hospital.
Witnesses stated they saw two black males, one wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and carrying a gun, fleeing the apartment complex. They were accompanied by two black females, one wearing a striped dress and the other appeared to be the driver of a white Toyota sedan with paper license plates.
Further investigation led to the identification of Sherikah and her sister, Ariel McGee, as suspects in this case and they were subsequently arrested and charged.
