UPDATE: Suspects Arrested, Charged in Man’s Death at 150 North Chenevert Street

Houston police have arrested two suspects charged in the death of a man at 150 North Chenevert Street about 5:20 p.m. on May 1.

The suspect, Richard Buckman, 53, is charged with murder in the 339th State District Court. The second suspect, Michael J. White, 43, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the same court. Booking photos of both suspects are attached to this news release.

The victim, Michael Enlund, 64, was transported to Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased on May 8.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook and Detective J. Roscoe reported:

Mr. Enlund was inside a tent at an encampment under the Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) overpass near the above address when he was assaulted by two male suspects, who did not live at the camp. Enlund suffered blunt force trauma and was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to the hospital.

Further investigation identified White as one of the suspects and, on Monday (May 9), he was arrested by the officers with the HPD Downtown Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team. With the assistance of officers with the HPD Mental Health Division Homeless Outreach Team and the Downtown Division, Buckman was identified as the other suspect in this case. He was arrested on Wednesday (May 11) without incident.
