Charges have been filed against three suspects arrested in the investigation into the death of a man found at 8200 Dover Street about 2:10 p.m. on Monday (April 18).
The suspects – Christopher Williams, 31, Jamie Handley, 40, and Marcus Ray, 38 – are charged with engaging in organized criminal activity in the 339th State District Court. Ray is also charged with felony evading arrest. Booking photos of all three suspects are attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 80, and his cause of death are pending an autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Watson and Detective R. Waterwall reported:
Officers were dispatched to a check-on-welfare call to a residence at the above address and located a male deceased inside the home. There were no visible wounds to his body.
Further investigation identified Handley, Williams and Ray as suspects in this case. All three were determined to be involved in the burglary of the home and theft of vehicles from that location.
Williams was arrested on Monday (April 19). Handley and Ray were taken into custody on Wednesday (April 20). All three were subsequently charged for their roles in the incident and remain in the Harris County Jail. Additional charges are possible, pending the outcome of the autopsy.
