UPDATE: Suspects Arrested, Charged Fatal Shooting at 11285 Southwest Freeway

Charges have been filed against three suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of an adult male and a juvenile male at 11285 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) service road about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 29).

A suspect, Keilon Omari Barnes, 17, is charged with capital murder in the 248th State District Court. A booking photo of Barnes is attached to this media release.

Two other male suspects, both age 16, have been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on charges of capital murder.

The identities of the victims, 20 and 15, are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives S. Chettry and A. Graf reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the business at the above address and found the two victims with gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported both males to a hospital where Mr. Nsengimana was pronounced deceased. Doctors pronounced the juvenile victim deceased on Wednesday (November 2).

Detectives learned three male suspects entered the business and sat down at a table. The two victims then entered. One of the victims approached and confronted one of the suspects. During the altercation, one of the other suspects pulled a gun and shot both victims.

Further investigation identified Barnes and two juvenile males as the suspects in this case. Barnes was arrested on Thursday (November 3) and subsequently charged. The two juvenile suspects were arrested and referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities today (November 4).
