Houston police have released a surveillance photo of a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a male and the wounding of a female at 1000 Webster Street that occurred about 2:55 a.m. on Monday (September 27).
A photo of the suspect is attached to this news release. He is described only as a black male wearing a red shirt and driving a 2019 white Chevrolet Impala.
The identity of the male victim is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The female victim, 55, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives H. Horne and J. Campbell reported:
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and found the victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The male victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The female victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the back.
Further investigation determined a suspect, described only as a black male, fired multiple gunshots into a vehicle. Two of the three persons inside the vehicle were struck. The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Investigators no longer believe a second vehicle, initially described as a black Dodge Durango, drove past and fired additional gunshots into the victims’ vehicle.
