Houston police have identified a suspect in the fatal shooting of a woman found deceased at 8800 Parkhurst Drive about 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 20.
The suspect, Joseph Williams, died on September 23 from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The victim is identified as Crystal Barnes, 43.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Lopez and Detective N. Sharp reported:
Officers responded to a call at the above address and found Ms. Barnes lying in a ditch near the bayou. She was deceased and appeared to have injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.
Further investigation determined Barnes was shot by her common-law husband, Joseph Williams. Williams appears to have taken his own life three days after fatally shooting Barnes.
