UPDATE: Suspect Deceased in Fatal Shooting at 11810 Chimney Rock

A suspect critically wounded in the fatal shooting of a woman at 11810 Chimney Rock about 10 a.m. last Thursday (April 26) has died from his injuries.

The suspect, Michael Parker (b/m, 28), was charged with murder in the 179th State District Court. He was transported to an area hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased on Saturday (April 28).

The victim, Karkea Crenshaw, 33, of the above address, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Rodriguez and Detective M. Condon reported:

Earlier Thursday morning, Ms. Crenshaw called police to report she had been assaulted by her live-in-boyfriend (Parker) after she told him to move out of her apartment. When officers arrived, Parker had already left the residence.  Officers interviewed Crenshaw and left to make a report.

Parker then returned to the apartment, kicked in the door, and began assaulting Crenshaw again.  A witness called police who went to the scene.  Unfortunately, Parker had shot Crenshaw and then himself before officers could diffuse the situation.  Crenshaw was pronounced deceased.
