UPDATE: Suspect Charged, Wanted in Stabbing at 2200 Wirt Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the stabbing of a man at 2200 Wirt Road that occurred about 11:30 p.m. on April 2.

The suspect, Policarpo Ramos (H/m, 40), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 182nd State District Court.  A photo of Ramos, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.

He is accused in the stabbing of Erick Patino, 26,  who was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers B. Godoy and J. Windham reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a stabbing at the apartment complex parking lot at the above address and learned Mr. Patino got into a verbal altercation with a known suspect.  During the altercation, Patina was stabbed once in the chest.  The suspect fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival on scene.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported Patino to the hospital.

Further investigation identified Ramos as the suspect in this case and he was subsequently charged.
