Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of a man at 12338 Kitty Brook Drive about 1 a.m. on February 25.
The suspect, Joshua Donall Francis (b/m, 30), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a weapon in the 232nd State District Court. He is not in custody. The most recent booking photo of Francis (in 2013) is attached to this news release.
The victim, Demetrous Butler, 28, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers F. Lee Jr. & A. Graf II reported:
Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at a residence at the above address and learned Mr. Butler had argued with an unknown male suspect about Butler’s girlfriend being at the residence. When Butler arrived to pick up his girlfriend, gunfire broke out and Butler suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The suspect fled the scene. Paramedics transported Butler to a hospital.
The suspect was described only as a black male in his late 20s to early 30s, who possibly goes by the name “JD” or “JB.”
Further investigation led to the identity of Joshua Francis as the suspect and charges were filed against him last Saturday (March 6).
