UPDATE: Suspect Charged, Wanted in October 2022 Fatal Shooting at 11285 Southwest Freeway

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of two others at 11285 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) service road about 10:15 p.m. on October 4, 2022.

The suspect, Donald Pruitt, 38, is charged with murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 183rd State District Court.  A photo of Pruitt, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.

The deceased victim is identified as Conrad Hargest, Jr., 59.

The two other victims, 32 and 47, were transported in a private vehicle(s) to an area hospital and expected to survive their injuries.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant N. Lazo and Detectives M. Providence and A. Ledford reported:

HPD patrol officers and Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to a shooting in a strip center parking lot at the above address and observed a male with multiple gunshot wounds.  Officers also observed narcotics in plain view.  HFD paramedics pronounced the man deceased.

A short time later, two males arrived at an area hospital.  Both had sustained gunshot wounds and are believed to have been involved in this shooting incident.

The motive in the shooting appeared to be robbery.  There was no known suspect descriptions at that time.

Further investigation identified Pruitt as the suspect in this case and he was subsequently charged for his role on Monday (Feb. 26).  Pruitt remains at large.
