Charges have been filed against a suspect in the fatal shooting of a man at 647 Greens Road about 12:05 a.m. on April 5, 2020
Christian Dillard (b/m, 21) is charged with capital murder in the 230th State District Court. He is accused in the death of Matthew Harris, 28.
A booking photo of Dillard, as well as previously released surveillance video in an attempt to identify Dillard, are attached to this news release.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Brooks and Detective L. Lovelace reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a business strip center and gas station at the above address. Upon arrival, they found Mr. Harris, suffering from a gunshot wound. Harris was subsequently transported to an area hospital by Houston Fire Department paramedics where he was pronounced deceased.
Previously released surveillance video from multiple businesses show the suspect approach Harris and shoot him. The suspect took Harris’ property, including his shoes, and then drove away in Harris’ black Cadillac sedan. The sedan was later recovered at a nearby location.
Further investigation identified Dillard as a suspect in this case and, while in the Harris County jail on unrelated charges, admitted his involvement in Harris’ death.
