A suspect wanted and charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 8900 Glencrest Street about 11:25 a.m. on Tuesday (Dec. 24) is now in custody.
The suspect, Christopher James White (b/m, 25), was initially charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 179th State District Court. The charge is in the process of being upgraded to murder.

The victim, James Andre White, 48, suffered a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to an area hospital where, on Wednesday (December 25), he was pronounced deceased.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a reported shooting at an apartment at the above address. Upon arrival, they found Mr. James White suffering from a gunshot wound. A witness attending to Mr. White told officers that White’s son, Christopher, shot his father during an argument. Christopher White fled the scene prior to the arrival of the officers. He was subsequently charged in this case.
On Thursday evening (Dec. 26), White surrendered to HPD officers and was then booked into jail early this morning (Dec. 27).
