Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of two men at 6500 Willowbend Drive about 10:30 p.m. on April 28.
The suspect, Larry Vail (b/m, 48), is charged with felon in possession of a weapon and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The charges are filed in the 185th State District Court. A booking photo of Vail is attached to this news release.
The victims, Joseph Hamilton, 23, and Anderson Ugochukwu, 22, were transported to area hospitals. Hamilton was in critical, but stable condition with multiple gunshot wounds while Ugochukwu was in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

The two victims were in the parking lot of a strip center at the above address with a group of people when Mr. Hamilton appeared to get into an argument with an unknown male. Following the argument, the suspect pulled out a pistol and shot Hamilton multiple times and then Mr. Ugochukwu one time.
The suspect was described only as an older black male, unshaven, with salt and pepper-colored hair. He was wearing a black baseball cap and dressed in all black clothing.
Further investigation identified the suspect as Vail and he was taken into custody on Monday (May 11) without incident.
