UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in May Fatal Shooting at 6 North Sam Houston Parkway East

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 6 North Sam Houston Parkway East service road (Beltway 8) about 9 p.m. on May 16.

The suspect, Ibyron Dmikkelo Faulkner, 25, is charged with murder in the 180th State District Court.  A booking photo of Faulkner is attached to this news release.

The victim has been identified as Edmund Parker, 24.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives L. Brooks and C. Davidson reported:

Officers responded to a shooting call outside a hotel at the above address and discovered a man unresponsive in a room.  The man, later identified as Mr. Parker, had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased by paramedics.

Witnesses and evidence indicates a male suspect exchanged gunfire with an unknown male in the hotel courtyard on the north side of the property.  The suspect ran south to the parking lot, where he then exchanged gunfire with Parker, resulting in Parker sustaining a gunshot wound. Parker then went to the hotel room where he was discovered by a witness.

At that time, the suspect – described only as a black male in his 20s – left the scene in an unknown direction.  The unknown male, who the suspect originally exchanged gunfire with, also fled the scene prior to officers arriving.

Further investigation identified Faulkner as the suspect in this case and, on June 12, a warrant was issued for his arrest.  Faulkner was arrested on Saturday (August 10) and he was subsequently charged for his role in Parker’s fatal shooting and two other unrelated felonies.
