UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in March Fatal Shooting at 9200 Country Creek Drive

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a transgender female at 9200 Country Creek Drive about 1:10 a.m. on March 16.

The suspect Walter Daniel Saravia Palacios, 35, is charged with murder in the 263rd State District Court.  A booking photo of Saravia Palacios is attached to this news release.

The victim is identified as Diamond Cameron Brigman, 36.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Barrow and J. Caten reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim, later identified as Ms. Brigman, deceased at the scene.

Witnesses informed officers a white 2017 Chevrolet Malibu LT stopped near the victim, who was standing on the side of the road.  A male exited the vehicle from the front passenger side and fired multiple shots. He then fled the scene in the vehicle driven by another individual.

At that time, the male shooter was described only as being about 5 feet 5 inches tall with a thin build and wearing a gray hooded jacket.  Investigators recovered the vehicle believed to have been used by the suspect.

Further investigation identified Saravia Palacios as the suspect in this case.  Saravia Palacios was arrested on Tuesday (May 28) and subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
