Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a male at 1445 Lakeside Estates Drive about 12:55 a.m. on June 7, 2023.
The suspect, Adrian Marks, 18, is charged with capital murder in the 487th State District Court. A booking photo of Marks is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Dummene Kponi, 22.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants K. Meek and J. Brooks and Detectives S. Overstreet and C. Flora reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and observed the male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Officers learned four males were seen running from the vehicle and fleeing the area in a dark-colored SUV.
Investigators learned the shooting occurred during a transaction that turned into a robbery.
Further investigation identified Marks as one of the four suspects. On Tuesday (Jan. 16) he was charged for his role in this incident.
