Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 4712 Lockwood Drive about 4:25 p.m. on July 22.
The male suspect, 15, is referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on a charge of murder. Identities and information on juvenile suspects are not releasable.
The victim is identified as Itolia Jones, 36.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Herrera and M. Providence reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and located an unresponsive man with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the sidewalk next to a bus stop. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Further investigation determined the victim, later identified as Mr. Jones, had been involved in an altercation with a unknown black male suspect. During the altercation, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot Jones several times. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction.
Further investigation identified a juvenile as the suspect and he was arrested last Tuesday (September 17) by deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The male was subsequently transferred to a juvenile detention center.
