UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Stabbing at 12304 Fondren Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at 12304 Fondren Road that occurred about 9:40 a.m. on February 9.  

The suspect, Andre Jerome Ford (b/m, 28), is charged with murder in the 209th State District Court.  A booking photo of Ford is attached to this news release.

He is accused in the death of Cedrick Cotton, 45.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Duncan and Detective L. Lovelace reported:

Mr. Cotton was involved in an argument with another male (suspect) outside the convenience store at the above address.  The two later argued inside the business.  The altercation continued to the front of the store where Ford stabbed Cotton in his left side.  Ford then led the scene and responding paramedics pronounced Cotton deceased.

Further investigation identified Ford as the suspect in this case and, Thursday (February 25), he was arrested by HPD South Gessner Patrol officers and subsequently charged for his role in Cotton’s death.
