A suspect wanted and charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 8811 Boone Road about 12:05 p.m. on September 24 is now in custody.
The suspect, Levar Knox (b/m, 39), was arrested today (Dec. 12) by members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force. He was charged with murder in the 183rd State District Court for his role in the killing of Ryan White, 25.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook and Detective B. Evans reported:
Witnesses reported seeing Mr. White arguing with another male who then drew a handgun and shot White multiple times before fleeing. Paramedics transported White to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A black Chevrolet Camaro, belonging to White, was subsequently located. It was being driven by friends of White, who are not believed to be involved in his death.
Further investigation developed Knox as the suspect in the case. He was charged with murder the following day (Sept. 25) and was being sought since that time.
