UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 8000 Cook Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of three men at 8000 Cook Road about 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday (Nov. 5).

The suspect, Adiel Alexander Sandoval, 17, is charged with capital murder in the 177th State District Court.  A booking photo of Sandoval is attached to this news release.

The deceased males are identified as Eddie Gomez, 17, Jonathan Hernandez, 17, and Juan Trejo Sandoval, 23.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective L. Brooks reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and found two unresponsive males, Messrs. Gomez and Hernandez, in the laundry room of the complex.  Both had suffered gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced both men deceased.  A third male, Juan Trejo Sandoval, was found just outside the laundry room.  He also suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased

A preliminary investigation determined two suspects, described only as Hispanic males, got into a disturbance with two other males (Gomez and Hernandez) in the complex laundry room.  The disturbance escalated and gunfire was exchanged among the men, resulting in three of them being fatally shot.  The surviving adult male (suspect) fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Further investigation identified Adiel Sandoval as the shooter who fled the scene.  On Wednesday (Nov. 6), Sandoval was arrested without incident, with assistance from officers with the Westside Patrol Division’s  Gang Unit and Crime Suppression Team.  He was then booked into the Harris County Jail.
