Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man found at 7200 Tidwell about 11:55 p.m. on June 29.
The suspect, Tevis Charles (b/m, 20), is charged with murder in the 178th State District Court. A photo of Charles is not available at this time, pending further investigation.
The victim, Melvin Adams, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Officers S. Jimenez and E. Aguilera reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to the above address after witnesses reported hearing several gunshots in the area. Mr. Adams was found deceased in a vehicle at the intersection of Tidwell and Crofton. He had sustained at least one gunshot wound.
Further investigation led to the identification of Charles as a suspect in this case and, on Tuesday (July 11), he was arrested without incident.
