Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 549 West Greens Road about 2:40 p.m. on August 3.
Deshawn Worthy (b/m, 20), is charged with murder in the 177th State District Court. A booking photo of Worthy is not available at this time.
Worthy is accused in the shooting death of Dante Wade, 36.
HPD Homicide Division Officers E. Martinez and R. Montalvo reported:
Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the above address and found Mr. Wade unresponsive on the ground. They performed CPR on him until paramedics arrived. Wade was then transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots and seeing an unknown black male suspect running from the scene and driving away in a white, four-door Hyundai vehicle with paper tags.
Further investigation identified Worthy as a suspect in this case and, on Monday (Aug. 31), he was interviewed by investigators while in custody on an unrelated charge. Based upon his interview and additional evidence, Worthy was subsequently charged for his role in the case.
